As a form of deeply personal knowledge, Flora Răducan, born in 1976 in Lugoj, claims her artistic journey without pomp and circumstance, but with a naturalness anchored in authenticity. Trained at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the West University of Timișoara, class of 1999, under the supervision of Professor Constantin Flondor, the artist continued her academic career at the University of Arts in Bucharest, under the guidance of master Ștefan Câlția. Her painting explores an ambiguous, mysterious world, situated on the fragile border between the amorphous and the clearly defined, where everything is in a process of analysis of personal turmoil. Flora Răducan invites the viewer into a space in constant remodelling, where form is not imposed, but born. Painting thus becomes an exercise in symbolic coherence and inner truth.

WIN Gallery: The curiosity of the adult to see the world through the innocent eyes of a child—this is the feeling conveyed by your artworks. Is there still room for childhood in the art of adults?

Flora Răducan: There is always room for childhood in the art of adults. A child's gaze is not naive, but deeply sincere, and this sincerity brings magic, freshness, and truth to an artistic world that is often too conceptualized.

WIN Gallery: A sunset, a glimmer of light, or a shifting shadow on canvas. What sparks your creativity?

Flora Răducan: Nature, because in nature I feel truly at home, as if in a space of natural belonging. I breathe in the landscape and breathe out the painting, and the spectacle of the sky—always changing through light, clouds, and seasons—constantly fuels my need to create.

WIN Gallery: Your paintings bring an impossible delicacy of late 19th-century Impressionism to the present. What does it represent today for Flora Răducan?

Flora Răducan: My passion for Impressionism developed naturally, through a shared sensitivity for light, atmosphere, and fleeting moments. Today, this movement remains a source of delicacy and freedom for me, reinterpreted in a personal language.

WIN Gallery: Present in almost all your creations, light plays an overwhelming role in painting. How do you perceive the relationship between light and shadow, taking the Dutch masters as a reference point?

Flora Răducan: The fascination with the chiaroscuro of the Dutch masters has transformed light into an essential character in my works. From them, I learned that light not only describes forms, but also creates space, tension, and emotion.

WIN Gallery: If you had not pursued a career in the visual arts, what other creative fields would you have explored?

Flora Răducan: If I hadn't chosen the visual arts, I would certainly have turned to a field that explores the unknown. Since childhood, I have been attracted to the sky, the idea of infinity and unexplored spaces, and astrobiology seems to me to be a form of applied scientific poetry.

WIN Gallery: The human element is missing from your paintings, and yet it feels constantly present. How do you interpret its absence?

Flora Răducan: Even though the human figure is missing, its presence is suggested by traces, rhythms, and the breath of space. The essence of people and things is revealed precisely in what is not explicit, in that "unseen" that demands to be felt, not seen.

WIN Gallery: Do you perceive art as a personal need for introspection or an attempt to address everyday issues through "visual" poetry?

Flora Răducan: The need for introspection predominates, and painting is, for me, a deeply therapeutic gesture. However, there is always a subtle bridge between matter and metaphysics, where light becomes a pretext for broader questions about existence.

WIN Gallery: At what point in your life did you feel you were at your creative peak?

Flora Răducan: I am still young and sometimes I feel like a child, but in the last two years I have begun to perceive a clear professional maturation. It is a period of inner settling, in which the artistic gesture becomes more conscious and more assumed.

WIN Gallery: Where do you feel better, in the real universe or in its surreal, imperceptible projection on canvas?

Flora Răducan: I feel, for the most part, more comfortable in my inner universe, projected on canvas. Over there I can control time, light, and emotion, without the constraints of immediate reality.

WIN Gallery: What do collectors/lovers of your work have in common?

Flora Răducan: I haven't thought about it explicitly, but I feel that lovers of my work have a predominantly feminine sensibility. Perhaps because they resonate with the fragility, introspection, and silence that I propose.

WIN Gallery: What invites you to paint in nature and what makes you stay in the studio?

Flora Răducan: Working in nature has spontaneity and freshness, but it is subject to many external conditions. Over time, I have come to increasingly appreciate the comfort and intimacy of the studio, where I can quietly delve deeper into every idea.

WIN Gallery: What will be the role of art in the lives of the new generations, considering their lack of patience and the rush for novelty?

Flora Răducan: Art will have the role of re-teaching patience and contemplation, even for the hurried generations. I believe that, beyond novelty, a profound need for meaning and inner reconnection will remain.

WIN Gallery: You have had five major collaborations with WIN Gallery over the last two and a half years. What is your impression of how they unfolded?

Flora Răducan: Collaborating with WIN Gallery has been a pleasure every time and a consistent professional experience. I felt genuine involvement, constant support, and an honest dialogue between artist and gallery.

WIN Gallery: What has been your most beautiful international experience so far regarding painting, and how did you interpret it?

Flora Răducan: International collaborations have offered me essential openness and a necessary validation of my artistic approach. The experience in Germany, in particular, taught me that art can be a space of generosity and sincere exchange, rather than sterile competition.

WIN Gallery: What does the experience of being a curator offer you that is different from being an artist?

Flora Răducan: The curatorial experience has given me a rare freedom and a new perspective on the art of others, as well as my own. I was left with a sense of creative responsibility and the joy of building bridges between different visions.
